the code that helped land Apollo 11

i'm sharing the original Apollo 11 source code, written for NASA's historic 1969 mission that landed the first humans on the moon.

developed by teams at MIT, including one led by Margaret Hamilton, this software helped guide the spacecraft and kept critical operations running even when the onboard computer became overloaded during landing.

Margaret Hamilton in 1969 standing by the printed computer code that guided American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to land on the Moon.

Margaret recently passed away at 90, and there's something so special about looking at code written more than half a century ago, knowing that her legacy lives on in the software engineering principles we still rely on today.
