bad for the politics
there are still workplaces that quietly teach us there is only one chair for a woman at the table, so when another capable woman walks into the room, the instinct becomes to guard the chair instead of pulling another one over.
the better i became at my job, the more carefully people started watching me. competence became intimidating. independence became distance. being trusted by leadership became workplace politics i never asked to participate in.
being the lone wolf may protect me from office politics, it also keeps me away from women i would have genuinely loved to see win.
